Tau Six, an agile small company delivering cutting edge cybersecurity and systems integration services to the US National Security market, has an immediate need for an IT Support Technician for a Department of Defense customer. In this role you have the opportunity to support critical national security missions while assisting VIP customers within the Pentagon with desk-side IT problem resolution.
As a IT Support Technician, you will provide exceptional "white glove" VIP support to military leaders within the Pentagon. This customer service-oriented position requires a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot basic Microsoft Windows and network-related issues. Prior military experience is considered a plus.
CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Active Top Secret/SCI US Government clearance
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site technical support to military leaders within the Pentagon, ensuring their IT needs are met promptly and effectively.
- Deliver VIP-level customer service by demonstrating a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and network-related issues for end-users, ensuring minimal disruption to their work.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT peripherals.
- Ensure IT cybersecurity best practices are understood and followed by the user community.
- Collaborate with other IT support teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.
- Educate end-users on basic IT procedures, software usage, and security best practices.
- Provide timely updates and documentation for all support activities using ticketing systems or other designated tools.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates on systems, ensuring proper functionality and security.
- Stay updated with the latest IT trends and technologies to enhance troubleshooting and support skills.
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking and ordering IT equipment and supplies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent military experience; relevant certifications or technical training is a plus.
- 4 years of general IT or customer service experience
- Prior military experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical users effectively.
- Professional and customer-focused demeanor, capable of handling high-pressure situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical approach to troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and related applications.
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of security awareness.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work well under limited supervision.
- Physical ability to lift and move IT equipment as necessary.
- This is a 100% on-site position within the Pentagon and does not include remote work.
- A Top Secret / SCI U.S. Government security clearance is required
