Systems Integration Engineer

Tau Six, an agile small company delivering cutting edge cybersecurity and systems integration services to the US National Security market, has an immediate need for a Systems Integration Engineer to support a Department of Defense customer in Chantilly, VA. At Tau Six you will help protect our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement.

U.S. Government Clearance Required: Active Top Secret clearance adjudicated within the past 6 years. Candidate must be open to CI polygraph.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, test, install, maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade and document the enterprise network and system monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, VMware vCenter, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Diagnosing and resolving the toughest performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to the platforms listed above
  • Design, implement and configure Solarwinds, Cisco Prime, HP Oneview, VMware vROPS
  • Automate enterprise alerts into Service Now
  • Support for applications that rely on database, including performance tuning database scripts and processes and trouble-shooting database latency
  • Automation of various manual processing and development of dashboards to facilitate the decision-making process

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree and 7 to 9 years of related experience.
  • MCSA or CCNA certification (training provided as needed)
  • 5+ years experience configuring SNMP and Syslog
  • Advanced knowledge of networking and system monitoring protocols such as SNMP, ICMP, CDP and WMI
  • Support for applications that rely on database, including performance tuning database scripts and processes and trouble-shooting database latency
  • Automation of various manual processing and development of dashboards to facilitate the decision-making process
  • Other tasks to include requirements specification, performance modeling, end-to-end functional analysis, cost estimation, and joint application design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Support for applications that rely on database, including performance tuning database scripts and processes and trouble-shooting database latency
  • Automation of various manual processing and development of dashboards to facilitate the decision-making process
  • Other tasks to include requirements specification, performance modeling, end-to-end functional analysis, cost estimation, and joint application design

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • US Citizenship and an active TS clearance adjudicated within the past 6 years. Must be willing to submit to a CI polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to communicate with co-workers and the customer
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers and management. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
