Tau Six, an agile small company delivering cutting edge cybersecurity and systems integration services to the US National Security market, has an immediate need for a Unified Communications Administrator to support a Department of Defense customer in Chantilly, VA. At Tau Six you will help protect our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement.


U.S. Government Clearance Required: Active Top Secret clearance adjudicated within the past 6 years. Candidate must be open to CI poly

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Resolving Unified Communications user incidents and requests
    • Assist in solving operational voice and video challenges
    • Assist in resolving issues with vendor-specific multi-level video teleconferencing systems
    • Complete Moves/Adds/Changes according to the specified SLAs
    • Provides weekly report activities to manager
    • Assist with the installation of local and/or remote data and voice communications equipment to include but not limited to voice terminals, video conferencing units, concentrators, minicomputers, central processing units, and facsimiles.
    • Assist with creating appropriate documentation, including operational instructions

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Requires Bachelor's degree in an (IT, Math or Engineering field) or equivalent experience work experience
    • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification required (CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+, CND or SSCP)
    • DoD 8570 computing environment certification within 6 months of hire. Cisco CCNA Voice or equivalent certification
    • Experience with Cisco VTC codes, Cisco VoIP endpoints, Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) version 11.5 or later, Cisco Telepresence Management Server
    • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
    • Utilize excellent customer service skills and exceed customers’ expectations
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Local travel up to 10%

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with SolarWinds Voice/Video QoS product a plus

    Security Clearance Requirements:

    • Active Top Secret clearance adjudicated within the past 6 years. Candidate must be open to CI poly

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
    • Must be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery
    • Must be able to position self to maintain office supplies on variable height shelving.
    • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
    • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
    • Must be able to observe and detect employee deviations from established policy
