Tau Six, an agile small company delivering cutting edge cybersecurity and systems integration services to the US National Security market, has an immediate need for a Jira Systems Administrator for a Department of Defense customer. This high-profile contract will assist the DoD with the oversight and management of information technology projects to develop and integrate department-wide Enterprise services. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of the Atlassian suite of collaboration tools as well as basic system administration abilities. Candidates must be experienced in supporting Atlassian software products to help teams meet mission objectives.

CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Active Top Secret/SCI US Government clearance

Job Responsibilities:

The Jira System Administrator will help ensure team productivity through configuration of the Atlassian Jira and Confluence software tools, customizing Agile workflow processes, reports, and systems. Combing a clean, quick user interface for capturing and organizing issues with easy to customize workflows, Open Social dashes and a pluggable integrated, framework, within JIRA​. Some SharePoint administration activities also required.


Required Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Atlassian Suite and features, with excellent understanding of general administration and configuration to maximize efficiency in using the tool
  • Jira and Jira service desk administration experience
  • Confluence administration experience
  • Develop metrics, dashboards, reports and advanced filters to provide leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports.
  • Create/maintain Confluence spaces and permission schemes, and JIRA projects, workflows, screen schemes, custom fields, permission schemes and notification schemes
  • Onboard new teams to JIRA and help existing teams optimize their workflows
  • Provide user management, training, and support for JIRA to development and project teams as needed
  • Apply built-in customization and third party add-ons to extend JIRA functionality as needed.
  • Strong understanding of Agile business processes and experience leveraging Atlassian Suite to maximize and improve those processes
  • Analyze requests for new JIRA functionality, implement new features, triage incoming support requests and handle or route appropriately
  • Ability to solve problems at their root, thinking at a systems level and understanding the broad context of the tool's usefulness

  • Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excel basic and advance skills for manipulating Jira exports​

Desired Skills:

  • Develop custom scripts/ Rest API's calls to pull data for metrics reporting.
  • Developing and deploying custom plugins for Jira

Years of Experience: 2+

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
